1st - 7th September 2019
Already the signs of early Autumn and a hint of an ‘Indian Summer’ are revealed in the pockets of changing colours along the Nivernais. Golden leaves and a clarity of light suggests that September has arrived. We cruised the week with lovely passengers from America, New Zealand and the UK. Penny greatly enjoyed her Monday evening with everyone, sitting down for supper as the sun was setting in Vincelles.
At this time of year, the reflections look brighter at this mooring, as the sun bounces off the vineyards of St Bris and Irancy in the distance. The River Yonne was as calm as a millpond, interrupted only by our visiting swans and the occasional crested grebe who dipped and dived for fish.
The contrast of the first two nights is seen in the different reflections of the photos. City and countryside. Simply nothing like the Nivernais Canal!
